Dr. Spangler grew up in the Queen City of Charlotte, and then headed to UNC Chapel Hill for his undergraduate and dental degrees. After graduating with his DDS in 1993, he completed a 2 year residency in Oral Medicine with a third year of fellowship at Duke and UNC Hospitals. During dental school, Dr. Spangler found a study buddy that is now his wife, Gina Spangler, who is a pediatric dentist in town. Vic and Gina moved to Winston-Salem in 1996 and they love raising their 3 kids here.
Vic has a heart for service and has volunteered with the Community Care Center dental clinic, the Baptist Dental Bus, Give Kids a Smile, the Mexico Project dental mission trip, Boy Scouts, and as a mentor to dental students. He is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentists, past president of the Forsyth County Dental Society, and also is a member of the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club. Dr. Spangler enjoys spending time with his family, rocking out on his guitar, and trying to play golf.
