More Information About Pfafftown, NC

Pfafftown, North Carolina is located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. The Piedmont Triad’s European history dates back to the 1700’s in the days of the early colonies. These colonists displaced the Native American tribes that inhabited the region for thousands of years prior to Europeans coming to the Western Hemisphere.

The first Europeans to settle in the region were considered religious minorities in the newly formed British Colonies. The Moravians, the Lutheran German immigrants, Quakers, and Scotch-Irish Catholics all settled in the region looking to stake their claim on their own region of the colony. The town’s namesake, Peter Pfaff, bought land in the area in 1784 beginning the settlement of the region. The town’s post office opened 100 years later in 1888.

Today

Throughout its history, Pfafftown has remained small. Today the population is just over 9,000 people. After the town of Lewisville incorporated in 1991, Pfafftown residents wanted to do the same. In 2001, the effort to incorporate the town failed unfortunately and over the next 5 years much of the community would be annexed by Winston-Salem and Lewisville.

Things to do

The community is small so many things for residents and visitors to do are outside of the town itself. There is however an endless supply within the Piedmont Triad.
