More Information About Midway, NC

Midway, North Carolina is a small community located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. The Piedmont Triad is made up of the region that sits in-between three of North Carolina’s major cities: Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem. The region’s European history began in the 1700’s when settlers began moving to the newly establish British colonies of North America. The first European settlers quickly displaced the Native American tribes that had been living in the area for thousand of years and laid claim to the land. The original European settlers were all some form of religious minority, each seeking to lay claim to their own part of the American dream. The major religious sects to settle the area were the Moravians, Scotch-Irish Catholics, Quakers, and German Lutherans.

Midway gets its name because of its location. It is located exactly half way between Winston-Salem and Lexington, North Carolina. The township has existed for a few hundred years, but its incorporation is very recent. The town just officially became incorporated in 2006.
